"Cricketer Yuvraj Singh says he hopes the biopic will inspire others," after the film's announcement

Mumbai (Maharashtra), August 20 : The remarkable journey of former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, from his celebrated cricket career to his personal struggles, is set to be depicted in an upcoming biopic.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Ravi Bhagchandka, the film will portray the life and career of the cricketing icon. Yuvraj Singh expressed his hope that the biopic will inspire many. "I am deeply honored that Bhushan ji and Ravi will showcase my story to millions of fans worldwide. Cricket has been my greatest passion and source of strength through various highs and lows. I hope this film encourages others to overcome their own challenges and pursue their dreams with relentless passion," Yuvraj stated.

Bhushan Kumar, known for hits like 'Animal', 'Srikanth', 'Drishyam 2', and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2', praised the film's potential to highlight Yuvraj Singh's extraordinary achievements. The biopic will cover everything from his famous six sixes in the 2007 T20 World Cup to his courageous personal battles.

"Yuvraj Singh's story is one of resilience, triumph, and passion. His journey from a promising cricketer to a cricketing hero, and then to a real-life hero, is truly inspiring. I am excited to bring this story to the big screen and celebrate his remarkable achievements," Kumar said.

Co-producer Ravi Bhagchandka, known for 'Sachin: A Billion Dreams' and 'Sitaare Zameen Par', spoke about his close bond with Yuvraj. "Yuvraj has been a dear friend for years. I am honored that he trusted us to bring his incredible cricketing journey to the screen. Yuvi is not just a world champion but a true legend," Bhagchandka remarked.

Yuvraj Singh began his cricket career with the Punjab Under-16 team at age 13. Over his career from 2000 to 2017, he played 402 international games, amassing 11,178 runs at an average of 35.05, including 17 centuries and 71 fifties. He was a part of the Indian team that won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2002 (joint winners with Sri Lanka), the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, and the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011.

Yuvraj was also the first Indian to hit six consecutive sixes in an over in international cricket, achieved during the 2007 T20 World Cup against England. His career highlight was being named 'Player of the Tournament' in the 2011 World Cup, scoring 362 runs in nine matches, with one century, four half-centuries, and taking 15 wickets. Diagnosed with cancer in 2011, the film will serve as a tribute to his unparalleled cricketing journey.
