Jammu and Kashmir: RLDA invites bids for the commercial development of two land parcels at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway Station

New Delhi [India], August 21 : The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) has invited bids for the commercial development of two land parcels adjacent to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway Station in Jammu & Kashmir, under the Firozpur Division of Northern Railway.

According to RLDA, the total land available for lease includes two parcels. Parcel A covers approximately 7,521.45 square meters with a reserve price of ₹17.35 crore, while Parcel B spans around 7,831.23 square meters with a reserve price of ₹18.49 crore. Both parcels will be leased for 60 years.

RLDA's statement outlines that Parcel A and Parcel B are situated near the Station road to the north. Parcel A is adjacent to the station road and Railway buildings, while Parcel B is next to Parcel A. To the south, both parcels are bordered by the Railway Yard. To the west, Parcel A is next to Parcel B, and Parcel B is bounded by vacant railway land and a drain.

These strategically located sites are ideal for commercial development, such as hotels, shopping complexes, and marriage halls. Such developments are expected to enhance the local economy, provide employment opportunities, and accommodate the large number of tourists visiting the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. With over 95 lakh pilgrims visiting the shrine in 2023 and future numbers expected to increase, there will be a growing demand for these commercial facilities.

RLDA's development plan includes four key objectives: leasing commercial sites, redeveloping colonies, redeveloping stations, and constructing multi-functional complexes.
