Mumbai (Maharashtra), August 8: The romantic drama film *Laila Majnu*, starring Avinash Tiwary and Triptii Dimri, is set to return to theaters on August 9.

The film follows the story of Qais and Laila, two Kashmiri lovers separated by family opposition. Fate intervenes as Laila marries another man while Qais travels to London.

Directed by Sajid Ali, *Laila Majnu* features Avinash Tiwary and Triptii Dimri in the lead roles.

On Wednesday, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali marked this occasion by posting a series of photos on Instagram, celebrating the re-release.

In his post, he expressed gratitude with a note that read, "Laila Majnu back on popular demand!!! Thanks to your love, it’s coming back to theaters after six years! Re-releasing on August 9, 2024, in cinemas nationwide (see picture). Congratulations to the team!"

Fans quickly reacted in the comments, with one user exclaiming, "Superb!!!! This is going to be EPIC. Congratulations to everyone who made this magical movie!"

Another user wrote, "Wow. A movie that deserved to be back in theaters! Happy for the entire team!"

Although the film did not receive a strong response from audiences initially, its soundtrack was highly successful and won several awards. The background music was produced by Hitesh Sonik, with lyrics by Mohammad Muneem, Mehmood Gaami, and Irshad Kamil.

The music was composed by Niladri Kumar, Joi Barua, and Alif. Niladri Kumar received the Upcoming Music Composer of the Year award at the Mirchi Music Awards in 2019 and the RD Burman Award for Upcoming Talent in Film Music at the 64th Filmfare Awards the same year.
