Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 14 : The trailer for Kangana Ranaut's film *Emergency* has been officially released. The actor-turned-politician shared the gripping trailer of the political drama on her social media platforms.
Emergency, directed and produced by Kangana Ranaut, features a strong cast including Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik in crucial roles.
Set during the 1975 Emergency period in India, the film stars Ranaut as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The trailer explores young Indira's relationship with her father, the late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, and depicts her journey through political challenges and turmoil.
The trailer also previews various themes covered in the film, such as the Emergency period, the Shimla Agreement, the rise of the Khalistan movement, and the JP Andolan.

The film, produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, explores a pivotal and controversial period in Indian history. With a screenplay and dialogues by Ritesh Shah and music by Sanchit Balhara, Emergency is set to hit theaters worldwide on September 6, 2024.
