Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has signed memorandums of understanding worth ₹850 crores with Lincoln Electric, Vishay Precision, and Visteon
New Delhi [India], September 6: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin announced on Friday that the state has secured memorandums of understanding (MoUs) totaling ₹850 crores with US-based companies Lincoln Electric, Vishay Precision, and Visteon.
In a social media post on "X", Stalin shared, "In a land full of opportunities, every new day brings new hopes. We've secured MoUs worth ₹850 crores with Lincoln Electric, Vishay Precision, and Visteon, moving closer to realizing our vision. Our continuous effort and determination are turning our dreams into reality."
On Thursday, Tamil Nadu also signed a ₹2000 crore MoU with Trilliant to set up a manufacturing unit and their Development and Global Support Centre in the state. "Exciting developments in Chicago! Secured a ₹2000 crore MoU with Trilliant for a new manufacturing unit and their Development & Global Support Centre in Tamil Nadu. Thanks to Trilliant for this valuable partnership," Stalin noted on X.
Stalin mentioned productive discussions with Nike regarding expanding footwear production in Chennai and with healthcare firm Optum for developing a talent pipeline in the healthcare sector.
Earlier on Wednesday, Stalin signed MoUs with Eaton for a ₹200 crore expansion of their R&D and engineering center in Chennai. These agreements are expected to create 500 jobs and include a pact with Assurant for establishing the first Global Capability Centre.
Stalin is currently on an official visit to the United States to attract support and investments for the state’s development. On August 31, 2024, he secured a deal with Ohmium to build a new factory in Chengalpattu for electrolysers and green hydrogen production, involving an investment of ₹400 crores and creating 500 job opportunities. This deal is seen as a significant step toward fostering a green energy ecosystem.
On August 30, 2024, Stalin met with senior officials from Apple, Google, and Microsoft to encourage investment in Tamil Nadu, signing an MoU with Google to establish AI labs in the state.
During his visit, on August 29, 2024, at an investors' conference in San Francisco, Stalin secured MoUs with six global companies—Nokia, PayPal, Yield Engineering Services, Microchip, Infinx Healthcare, and Applied Materials—for an investment of ₹900 crores, which will create 4,100 job opportunities.
